OSLC Quilters Reach New Heights
On May 21, 2016, sixteen women came together to finish 61 quilts nthey had been working on for six months at their monthly meetings. This is a record number of quilts for one biannual event. Ladies came with scissors, sewing machines, and a willing heart as we finished 61 lap quilts for Akron’s Children’s Hospital and Medina County Help Me Grow Program. Women worked deligently and had a good time on Saturday from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. Other quilts were partially finished in addition to the 61 quilts. The quilts were blessed at the worship service on May 21 and 22nd. The WELCA women met on May 22nd to divide the quilts and delivered 49 quilts to Akron’s Children’s Hospital and twelve for Medina Help Me Grow Program. All of these quilts would not have been possible without the help of Trivent’s donation of $250. This money was used to purchase thread, needles, batting, and backing fabric. This project is just another example of God’s Work Our Hands as we were able to reach out to many children in Jesus name.
